ABC’s of Homeschooling

Adult

Children whine, cry, complain, disobey, advert responsibility…be the ADULT. Prov 22:6

BIBLE

Read it daily with an invitation for the Holy Spirit to join you, challenge you and change you. 2 Tim 3:16-17

CHILDREN

Children are a heritage from the Lord. God gave them you, and you, them! Treasure them in each season of life. PS 127:3

DO IT

Homeschooling and all the other things the Lord has told you to do, just do it. Even when you don’t feel like pressing on, still do it!   Phil 3:14

ENCOURAGE

Encourage one another, especially your family and other Believers!  Gal 6:10

FAITH

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world!  It’s how you can do this. I Jn 5:4 

GRACE

Grace, grace, God’s grace. Grace that will pardon and cleanse within! Jn 1:16

HUMOR

Have fun and laugh with your children every day. Develop a love for learning & the rest will fill in less painstakingly. Prov 17:22

Interruptions Included

Noses running, bums dirtied, bumps resulting, coughs and all the noise + MOMMY x1000 are all just part of the journey. Titus 2:4-5

JESUS FIRST

Jesus First. That’s all, no 2nd, 3rd . With Jesus first in our heart every day, the rest  will be ordered in a way which honors Him. Lk 12:31

KINDNESS

Be YE kind,  one to another.  Starts with YOU. Be kind.  Eph 4:32

LOVE THE LORD

Love the Lord with all your heart, soul and might!  Lk 10:27

MAKE LOVE (not war)

Make time for your husband. Just the two of you.  Prov 31:12

NEVER NEVER LAND

This is not Never Never Land; this is reality. It will NOT BE easy. Parenting: not easy. Marriage: not easy. Faithfulness to God: not easy. Homeschooling not easy.  Buckle up and stay for the duration.. Jn 16:33

ORGANIZE

Organize what you need and get rid of the rest. You can have space, or you can have stuff, choose wisely.

PURGE PERFECTION

Remove perfection from all expectations-yours, your husband and the children! Instead, strive for faithfulness! Matt 25:23

QUESTION

Question everything you know about school. You didn’t just bring public or private school into your home. Retrain your mind & heart.

RENEW

Daily renew all you are. Take care of yourself spiritually PS 51:10,  physically  I Cor. 6:19,  and  intellectually, Rom 12:1-2.

SACRIFICE

Sacrificeit’s the cost of anything worth doing—and any one worth being. Ec 9:10

TRANSPARENCY

If you’re brave enough to un-mask, you’ll find your own authenticity and risk being the person God is making you. Please God!  Gal 3:10

UP, LOOK UP!

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD Who made heaven and earth. PS 121:1-2

VALUE

Godliness is valuable, strive to live a godly life in Christ. For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come. I Tim 4:8

WALK WORTHY

God has called you to it; walk worthy of your calling. Col 1:10

X {CHRIST}

In Greek, X means CHRIST. He is our all in all!  Set your gaze on Him in all things. Col 3:1

YOUR BEST

Aways do YOUR BEST (Mom).   Col 3:17

ZERO EXCUSES

Invite God to search your heart and show you where you need to change & then obey. He will lead you to the everlasting way. PS 139:23-24
