The Creation Museum

Dec 2015

We were excited to take an unplanned side trip to The Creation Museum while working in Cincinnati in Dec. The city was beautifully decorated for Christmas (my favorite time of year), and  we got a nearly private few hours at the museum. It was an incredible time.  I hope everyone gets the opportunity to visit at some point; it’s worth the trip!  You can’t imagine how hard it is for a photographer to show up  w/o her camera, so now I’m going to let the iphone (gasp)  pics-told you it was an unexpected trip-tell our story. Enjoy!

Gratitude 2016- Day 13

Today’s Lesson

January 13, 2016

The moments which grab my heart with the most might are almost always unexpected.

Take today, for instance. Who knows what important and enlightening thing I was saying to my youngest while

peering over his shoulder to see the computer screen when I noticed his notes. These were not

notes required of his lessons. They were, however, required of mine.

Here sits my son (whose busy boy body can hardly sit at all),

working away yet paying close attention to what the Lord is teaching him.

In the middle of ‘getting it all done,’ this sweetheart pens

the notes on his heart so he won’t forget.

How about me?

Am I so busy ‘getting it done’ I don’t take note of what the Lord wants my heart to hear?

Today the lesson was for me and my son was the teacher.

I’m touched,

I’m thankful.

Gratitude 2016- Day 10

Big M

January 10, 2016

Big M

Big M

THERE^ he is. I met him nearly 22 years ago, but I fell in love with him way before then. Mr. T and I prayed for a son for

For this child I prayed

several years before the Lord gave us Big M. A long time friend dubbed him “Big M” when he was just a little guy (ok, little may be a bit far-fetched). Only God knew how well this nickname would fit him for years ahead. He is big in so many ways. For instance, there really is a seat underneath and behind him in the photo above. His feet slide neatly into a size 17 shoe, and his hands normally completely engulf the like of the other mens’ as they say hello. His heart though! It’s his heart which makes the “Big M” impact in life. Strangers remember him after just one meeting and friends know his loyalty. Bosses count on and trust his character.  Coaches admire his leadership. I couldn’t be more proud of him and I love all these things, and so much more.  Mostly, I love his love and I love to love him. It is enough for this mom, and I bet you feel the same of your own.  No day of thankfulness could be complete without this guy near the top of the list. I thank the Lord for him; I am so incredibly blessed to have him.

I Samuel 1:27 -28

I prayed for this boy, and since the Lord gave me what I asked Him for,

I now give him to the Lord. For as long as he lives, he is given to the Lord.

Gratitude 2016- Day 8

He Seeks the Lord

January 8, 2016

Lord willing, we’ll be celebrating 28 years of marriage this June.

(Just a second while I double check my math.  Wow!  Yep.)

It’s fair to say we’ve driven each other crazy over the past nearly 3 decades. We both live passionately which is equally as good as it is trouble at times.   There are a million little things I love about him.  But this one, it’s a biggie.

Never one day has passed where I could say anything contrary to, “My husband’s faith is strong, it’s undying,  it’s unwavering and it’s nonnegotiable. He seeks the Lord. In the good times, in the bad times, he seeks HIM.”

He seeks the Lord

                              He seeks the Lord

There’s no sweeter time  to witness his faith in action than when he shares the Lord with our boys.

Each night you can find him by their bedside, reading God’s Word together and praying.

He seeks the Lord.

I couldn’t be more grateful.

2016 Gratitude – Day 4

It’s Him

January 4, 2016

There are days where I shake my head a lot, sigh more than I should and hold my jaws in my hands, but not today. Today this guy knew what would be facing him the first day back to school in 2016.  To say he doesn’t like doing school work would be quite the understatement. He’s full of life. If the day comes, yes I said IF, when this sweet boy of mine doesn’t end the night with, “Goodnight, Momma. Can’t wait to see you tomorrow for another BIG DAY,” I don’t know what I’m going to do!  He lives life large. He loves hard. He plays without abandon.

Today, he faced every chore and assignment with complete resolve. That was an accomplishment maybe even bigger than actually doing it all (well and in great time). I’m so proud. And  I’m full of gratefulness for his prayers and the answers to this mornings request, “Lord, help me do this today.”

Amen, Sweet Boy!

Mommy loves you!
